Introduction
A Child's Wish Foundation fulfils the wishes of children facing critical illness. The mission moved everyone who heard it; almost nobody was hearing it. DM Solutions led brand, content strategy, and donation flow design; Creative Labs partnered with us to execute the WordPress build and CRM integration. Donations rose 50% within six months, organic traffic 70%, and volunteer registrations 35%.
A mission that moves people, reaching almost nobody

- Awareness was the bottleneck. The foundation's work speaks for itself — but only to people who encounter it. Limited visibility constrained donor acquisition and volunteer recruitment simultaneously, and for a small charity those two shortfalls compound: fewer volunteers means less capacity, less capacity means fewer stories, fewer stories means fewer donors.
- Giving was harder than it needed to be. The donation process created friction at the exact moment someone had decided to help — the most expensive place in any nonprofit's funnel to lose someone. There was also no way to give regularly, which meant every donation had to be won again from scratch.
- No infrastructure behind the generosity. Without CRM integration, donor relationships couldn't be tracked or stewarded. Money arrived; relationships didn't accumulate.
Remove every obstacle between feeling and giving
DM Solutions led brand refresh, content strategy, UI/UX Design, and donation flow architecture. Creative Labs partnered with us to execute the WordPress build, payment integration, and CRM connection.
The design principle throughout: emotional resonance creates the intent to give, and friction destroys it. The site's job is to hold someone's attention long enough to move them, then get out of the way completely. Everything downstream of a visitor's decision to donate was measured in steps removed.
More donors, more volunteers, and a foundation that can plan
- Donations rose 50% within six months of the streamlined portal launching — the same generosity, no longer obstructed.
- Organic traffic grew 70% through optimised content and SEO, putting the mission in front of people who had never encountered it.
- Engagement rose 40%, with visitors spending significantly longer reading the children's stories. For a charity, that time on page *is* the fundraising.
- Volunteer registrations grew 35% from a simplified sign-up — capacity, which for a small foundation is as valuable as cash.

Discovery & Analysis
Stakeholder interviews established the foundation's goals, obstacles, and the outcomes that would count as success — for a charity, rarely the same as the metrics an agency defaults to reporting.
The work identified two distinct audiences with different journeys: donors, who need to be moved and then processed quickly, and volunteers, who need to understand commitment and logistics before signing up.
Brand Refresh
We redefined the brand around the foundation's actual emotional register — warm, hopeful, and unsentimental about the seriousness of what these families face.
The refreshed logo and a warm, inviting palette signal hope and compassion without slipping into the visual conventions that make charity communications feel like an appeal before anyone has read a word.
Web Development
Creative Labs executed the WordPress build with a custom donation portal at its centre:
- Multiple payment methods, so nobody is stopped by how they prefer to pay
- Recurring gifts, converting one-time generosity into predictable annual income
- CRM integration, so donor relationships can be tracked and stewarded properly

Content, SEO, Testing & Launch
The content strategy centred on the children's stories — told with emotional honesty and structured to be found. Nonprofit content often chooses between moving people and ranking; the two goals align more often than they conflict, because the searches people make in this space are themselves emotional.
Usability testing ran across browsers and devices, with the donation flow tested hardest.
