Storefronts Designed Around the Moment People Decide

Category, product, cart and checkout designed against your real drop-off data — so the traffic you're already paying for converts more often on the phone it arrives on.

  • Designed from your analytics
  • Mobile-first, not mobile-adapted
  • Checkout built for fewer steps
  • Handover your developers can build

Is this you?

Four Signs Your Store Is Costing You Sales

All four are visible in your own analytics before anyone opens a design tool.

  • Traffic is fine, conversion isn't

People arrive in good numbers and leave without buying — you're paying for visits the store isn't closing.

  • Carts fill up and get abandoned

Intent is there, then something in the last few steps — cost surprises, forced accounts, friction — sends them away.

  • Mobile converts far worse than desktop

Most of the traffic is on a phone and the experience was clearly designed on a large screen.

  • People can't find the product they came for

Search returns nothing useful, filters don't match how customers think, and category pages bury the range.

Overview

Design Aimed at the Conversion Rate

Every screen in the buying path, designed against evidence rather than taste.

E-commerce design is judged by a number, which makes it unusually honest work. A storefront isn't finished when it looks good — it's finished when more of the people already arriving complete a purchase. So we start in your analytics: where the funnel leaks, which devices lose people, what search terms return nothing, and which products get viewed constantly and bought rarely.

From there we design the path rather than a set of pages. Category and listing pages that make a range navigable; product pages that answer the questions that actually stop a purchase — sizing, delivery, returns, whether it's in stock; a cart that shows total cost before anyone has to guess; and a checkout stripped to the fewest steps the platform allows, with guest purchase and wallet payments in the obvious place.

It's designed mobile-first because that's where the traffic and most of the abandonment is: thumb-reachable actions, tap targets that work in one hand, images sized so a product page isn't several megabytes on a phone connection. And it's handed over so it can actually be built — component specs and states in Figma, ready for your developers or ours to implement on Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom stack.

Capabilities

What's Included

Nine areas of storefront design. Which matter most is decided by where your funnel actually leaks.

  • Storefront & Homepage Design

An entry point that establishes what you sell and who it's for in seconds, then routes people into the range rather than showing off.

  • Category & Listing Pages

Range navigation, sorting and merchandising that make a large catalogue feel manageable and a small one feel considered.

  • Product Page Design

Imagery, variants, pricing, delivery and returns arranged to answer the objections that stop a purchase, in the order people ask them.

  • Search & Filtering

Predictive search and faceted filters built around how customers describe products, not around how your catalogue is structured internally.

  • Cart & Checkout Flow

Total cost shown early, guest checkout available, and every avoidable step removed within what the platform allows.

  • Mobile Commerce Design

Designed for one thumb on a phone first — reachable actions, honest tap targets, and image weights a mobile connection can carry.

  • Trust & Social Proof

Reviews, guarantees, delivery and returns clarity, and payment security placed where hesitation actually happens.

  • Personalisation & Merchandising

Recommendation modules, cross-sell and upsell placements designed to raise order value without turning the page into a jumble.

  • Test Variants & Design System

A documented component library plus designed variants for the hypotheses worth testing once the store is live.

Our Process

How We Design a Store

Six phases, starting in your analytics rather than on a blank canvas.

  • 01

    Funnel & Behaviour Analysis

We read the analytics, session recordings and search logs to find where the funnel leaks, on which devices, and for which parts of the catalogue.

Deliverables: Funnel analysis, drop-off findings, prioritised opportunities

    1 week
  • 02

    Structure & Journey Design

Category structure, navigation, filtering logic and the end-to-end purchase path mapped — including how people arrive from ads and search, not just the homepage.

Deliverables: Information architecture, filter taxonomy, journey maps

    1–2 weeks
  • 03

    Wireframes & Flow

Every screen in the buying path wireframed mobile-first, including the states that get skipped — out of stock, failed payment, empty search, applied discount.

Deliverables: Wireframes for all key screens and states

    1–2 weeks
  • 04

    Visual Design & Prototyping

Wireframes brought up to full visual design in your brand, assembled into a prototype that can be walked through end to end before anything is built.

    Deliverables: High-fidelity designs, interactive prototype

    2–3 weeks
  • 05

    Validation & Handover

The prototype tested with real shoppers on real phones, findings folded in, then documented for build with components, states and exported assets.

Deliverables: Test findings, revised designs, component library, dev handover

    1 week
  • 06

    Post-Launch Optimisation

Live data read against expectations, with designed variants for the hypotheses worth testing — the store keeps improving rather than being finished.

Deliverables: Performance reviews, test variants, iteration recommendations

Engagement

How We Work Together

Three shapes, depending on whether you're launching, rebuilding or repairing a specific step.

  • The complete storefront, from homepage through checkout, designed and documented. Best for a launch, a replatform or a store that's fallen behind.

Fit

Who This Is For

And, just as usefully, who it isn't for.

Ideal for

  • Retailers with healthy traffic and a conversion rate that doesn't match it
  • Stores where mobile converts far worse than desktop
  • D2C brands launching and needing a storefront that reflects the product
  • Businesses replatforming and unwilling to carry the old friction across
  • Large catalogues where customers can't find what they came for
  • Subscription and B2B commerce with buying flows a template doesn't cover

Not the right fit if

Why DM Solutions

What You Get Beyond the Screens

Four commitments aimed at the conversion rate, not the compliments.

  • We Start in Your Analytics

The redesign is aimed at the steps that are actually losing people. Redesigning what already works is the most common way this money gets wasted.

  • Mobile Is the Primary Design

Phone layouts are designed first and desktop derived from them — because that's where the traffic is and where the abandonment happens.

  • Every State Designed

Out of stock, failed payment, empty search, expired discount. The unhappy paths are where carts get abandoned, and they get designed rather than improvised.

  • Built to Be Tested

You get a prioritised test backlog and designed variants, so launch is the start of the optimisation rather than the end of the project.

Stores That Started Converting

Redesigns where conversion, order value or mobile revenue moved measurably.

Testimonials

What Clients Say About Working With Us

  • The rebrand and UI overhaul completely changed how customers perceive us. We went from looking like a scrappy startup to a company enterprise buyers take seriously — without losing our personality.

    Kwame Asante

    Founder, Beacon Analytics

  • They didn't just hand us pretty mockups — they built a design system our whole team can run with. New screens that took weeks now ship in days, and everything finally looks like one product.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The six that come up before every store redesign.

  • A redesign aimed at where your funnel actually leaks usually does. A redesign done for appearance alone sometimes makes things worse — which is why we start in your analytics and tell you up front which steps we expect to move and roughly by how much. If the data suggests your problem is traffic quality rather than the store, we'll say that instead of selling you a redesign.
